Master the Akuna Capital Assessment
The Akuna Capital math test is brutal. Two sections test your computational speed and pattern recognition. Both skills matter for prop trading success.
Test Structure and Scoring
Section 1: Calculations
- • 80 problems in 8 minutes
- • Type-in format (not multiple choice)
- • Large multiplications & divisions
- • Decimal arithmetic & BODMAS
Section 2: Sequences
- • 30 patterns in 16 minutes
- • Fibonacci, primes, geometric series
- • Arithmetic progressions & factorials
- • Hint system available
Scoring: +1 correct, -1 wrong for both sections
Why Akuna Tests Mental Math
Akuna Capital needs traders who calculate fast under pressure. The math test checks if you can compute position sizes, profit calculations, and risk metrics quickly. These skills matter in live trading.
Sequence Recognition Skills
The sequence section tests pattern recognition. You'll spot trends and algorithmic patterns. Common sequence types:
- Arithmetic sequences: Constant differences between terms
- Geometric progressions: Constant ratios between consecutive terms
- Polynomial patterns: Perfect squares, cubes, and triangular numbers
- Recursive sequences: Fibonacci and modified Fibonacci patterns
- Mathematical series: Factorial, prime, and composite number sequences
Performance Benchmarks
Good candidates score 70+ on calculations and 24+ on sequences. Time pressure and wrong answer penalties make strategic skipping important.
